Primary Function: Manages the planning, visualization, and computer modeling of building projects, ensuring coordination with stakeholders and implementing innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize BIM software (such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or Tekla) to create detailed 3D models of buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Provide training and support to team members in the organization on the effective use of BIM tools and techniques, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Develop, integrate, coordinate, and manage digital models for design, construction, and field use throughout the project lifecycle.
- Perform clash detection analyses to identify conflicts between building systems, coordinating resolutions with project teams.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary models from various stakeholders to ensure clash-free designs and seamless integration of different building systems (architectural, structural, MEP, etc.).
- Develop virtual mockups and simulations to visualize construction sequences, identify potential conflicts, and optimize construction methodologies.
- Produce and maintain 3D models throughout project, ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate.
- Extract quantities and generate cost estimates from BIM models to support project budgeting and procurement.
- Conduct constructability reviews to assess design feasibility, identify potential construction challenges, and propose value engineering solutions.
- Integrate BIM models with project schedules to create 4D simulations, visualizing construction progress and identifying schedule conflicts.
- Utilize Laser Scanning devices and their point clouds to develop BIM Models and As-Builts for new and ongoing projects.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to optimize building designs for efficiency, sustainability, and constructability.
- Coordinate with project team members to assist in the management of shop drawing/model production.
- Facilitate digital collaboration among project stakeholders through cloud-based platforms and collaboration tools, ensuring real-time information sharing and coordination.
- Stay updated on VDC technologies and methodologies, implementing innovative tools and workflows to enhance project efficiency and quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
- Proficiency BIM software and other VDC technologies.
- Certification in BIM or related VDC technologies is desirable.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with BIM and/or other VDC technologies.
- Must have strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and industry standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
