Utilities Engineer
Full-time Position
Annual Salary: $115,419.20 - $144,289.60 DOE

Assists in the management of Utilities Operational functions, including coordination of utilities construction projects and geographical information systems projects, engineering, and contract services. Duties include engineering design review, planning, organizing, and directing utilities operational activities and utilities design/construction projects.

Essential Duties

Assists in planning, directing, and organizing utilities operational activities and unities design/construction projects.
Responsible for routing and tracking of development design documents submitted for review.
Provides management and inspection of infrastructure construction built by or to be dedicated to the public.
Inspects contractor work crews in the field to ensure that assignments are being carried out properly and that work quality and safety standards are being maintained.
Assigns work tasks to subordinates; oversees completion of tasks and evaluates performance of subordinates.
Review engineering design documents and reports submitted for proposed construction in conformance with established criteria.
Prepares and presents oral and written reports and correspondence for the Director, the City Manager, and the City Council.
Represents the municipality at public and private meetings/conferences, participating and negotiating as authorized in solving public works issues.
Ensures that work quality and safety standards are being maintained.
Monitors and assists in the development of status of Develop Services budgets and advises director of concerns.
Serves as essential emergency personnel when required.
Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the position.
Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Five years' progressively responsible engineering experience, including supervision of professional and labor staff. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering; High School graduation, or its equivalent.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED
Valid Texas Driver's License and must be bondable. Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.
